Poker, Sin & Other Delights

Wow, it's hard to believe the day has flown by...and I'm already into Sunday!

Today I played poker with some of the boys...bleh, unfortunately I lost $2. Not too shabby, I am still on top if I count my last game's winnings. So it's all good. I learned a bit more, but I definitely need to work on my betting ability. I get the cards, but it's how to get them to keep betting that is the key! Hmm...I don't think I'm quite the expert poker player, but I think I can hold my own with a group of guys!

I finally saw Sin City on DVD. I am quite torn as to how I feel about the movie. I loved the visuals and the graphics...love them. I definitely think the movie could have been tied in together much better with all that was going on. Final grade: B- I'm looking forward to Sin City 2 whenever that is filmed and comes out.

And the house is gradually looking a TINY bit better. It's still a bit of a mess, but there is crap going out. I can't believe how much stuff I have sometimes.

As I'm decluttering, I come across this quote and it fits into everything I've been thinking about and my goals for the new year. well, two quotes that really hit home with me, especially given my melancholy mood yesterday.

"We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us." -Joseph Campbell, author

"Without freedom from the past, there is no freedom at all, because the mind is never new, fresh, innocent." -Krishnamurti, spiritual teacher.

And it just fits. And makes total sense.

  • Smell Ya Later.

LOL. I love that line from The Simpsons. Nelson said it often. It means goodbye, see you later, obviously, and I often end my phone calls that way…

  • Whew!

    arielhime said yes.

  • My Happiness Today

So happy: eating a Hershey's chocolate bar having a four day weekend getting the latest issue of PC Photo re-reading Bram Stoker's…
